Kentucky Real Estate Principles

This 96-hour course is designed for pre-licensing students in Kentucky. From the principles of real estate law to fair housing, this interactive online course prepares students for a successful career in real estate. The course includes the latest Kentucky information along with the rules and regulations of the Kentucky Real Estate Commission.

Final Project

This course includes a three-step project where students do the following:

  1. Work through the Agency Consent Agreement and are tested with questions on the timing and use of the form

  2. Complete a comparative market analysis case study answering questions to work through the analysis

  3. Complete an offer to purchase form answering questions with an answer key for the offer to purchase form.

Kentucky State Requirement Details for Real Estate Sales Associate Pre-Licensing Education

Hours Required by the State: 96 hours

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PSI.  Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

Prime Real Estate Academy Offering: 96 hours

REES, LLC dba Prime Real Estate Academy is licensed by the Kentucky Commission for Proprietary Education and the Kentucky Real Estate Commission.

Reporting: The state does not require schools to report course completions.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.

Prime Real Estate Academy Pre-Licensing courses expire 6 months after the date of purchase. Students are allowed to purchase a course extension for an additional fee. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.

Certificates: Prime Real Estate Academy will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion with in 10 days. Prime Real Estate Academy will keep record of certificates for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Eastern Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Proctored Final Exam: The state requires your final exam to be proctored.  You’ll need to schedule an appointment with a proctor in advance. You can find full details of the proctoring process here. Upon passing the final course exam, you will be asked to sign an affidavit verifying your identity as the student who completed the course and the final course exam. Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75%. A student is not allowed to take the final examination more than 3 times, unless the student retakes the sales associate pre-licensing course. A student may retake the final examination no earlier than the fourth day following the date of a failure.

Max Hours in a 24-Hour Period: Licensees will not receive credit for more than 9 hours of pre-licensing education in a 24-hour period. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.
